Villavicencio is a Colombian municipality, capital of the department of Meta and is the most important commercial center of the Eastern Plains.It is located in the foothills of the Eastern Cordillera, north-west of the department of Meta, on the left bank of the Guatiquía River.

But those same aspects are the ones that most run the risk of falling behind the sudden development that is approaching with the proximity to the capital of the country and the safe arrival of people and problems that will alter, in a short time, that state that makes cities as Villavicencio, places riggers.
Precisely, the survey of Yankelovich firm to inquire among citizens about the possibility of finding a better standard of living in another city, outside the Meta, showed that, despite the problems, most people want to stay in Villavicencio.
In fact, 58.5 of the surveyed population answered that they would not leave the city, compared to 40.0 who answered affirmatively. But as the information only allows us to interpret a general aspect, we wanted to inquire into the citizenship at the level of polling, what reasons lead people to stay in the capital of Meta.
Testimonials Doña María Bernarda Arias, lottery seller, and who has been living in Villavicencio for 23 years, would never leave the city, since she considers the weather, tranquility and security very good.
Mr. Ignacio Gutiérrez, a merchant, who has been living in the city for almost 50 years, believes that the city is very commercial and shows a lot of progress. It does not change Villavicencio for any city in the world.
For her part, Mrs. Nubia Calderón, housewife and merchant, who comes from Caquetá, would not leave Villavicencio because she admires the tranquility of the city, the people and the landscape.
Meanwhile, Claudia Arias, music saleswoman and born in the capital of Meta, prefers to live in Villavo for security, tranquility and people; although at an educational level he does not see many opportunities.
Domingo Antonio Torres, watchman, who arrived only two months ago from Cúcuta, is very much affected by the people and the warm weather.
For Zenaida Rodríguez López, a professional stylist, born in La Vega (Cundinamarca) and who has lived in Villavicencio for 20 years, she is very happy to live in the city for being a tourist development pole and for the kindness of the people, although It is not satisfied with the lack of water, poor service of light and few telephones.
Don Luis Almaris thinks that the best of the city is commerce and people. He dislikes the negligence of the political class, although he does not change the city for any other.
Likewise, Mr. Alejandro Riaño, a merchant, a native of Bogotá and who lives in Villavo for just one year, likes the climate and tranquility of the city. I would not leave here.
Iván Alberto Bejarano, student, likes Villavicencio because it has many tourist and recreational attractions. He would not change the city for anything, although he dislikes the insecurity that grows every day.
Mrs. Rosalba de Dominguez, a teacher and who has lived in Villavicencio for 30 years, is very happy to reside in the city, which would not change. He likes people, cordiality and tranquility. He dislikes traffic.
Oswaldo Pérez, who is dedicated to advertising and came from Casanare eight years ago, said that what he likes most is tranquility and security. The provision of services seems bad, but he would stay here.
Finally, the priest Arnulfo Vega Rodríguez, who has been in Villavicencio for three years, says that the plain is very beautiful but criticizes the violation of human rights such as overcrowding in prisons that violate the dignity of man.
